The Worship Assistant helps the pastor in leading worship at every service.
The Communion Assistant helps the pastor and worship assistant in the distribution of Holy Communion.
Cantors lead worship by chanting the opening liturgy and the psalm during each service.
For each service the Lector reads one or more of the assigned lessons for the day.
Ushers make sure the church building is ready for worship. They hand out bulletins, receive the offering, assist people in taking Holy Communion and any other tasks the pastor may need to ensure the worship service goes smoothly.
Our greeters generally open the door and welcome people to our church. They are particularly helpful to visitors and can answer any questions your may have. (The Sunday bulletin also contains helpful information about our worship service.)
Members of the Altar Guild prepare the Altar for worship, setup the flowers, prepare the Communion ware, and assist the pastor with his vestments. Following the service they prepare the flowers either to be taken to the sick or given to the person who has donated them for that service.
We have a small children's play area near the sanctuary with a sofa, rocking chair and a few toys and colored pencils for use during the service. We do not have a dedicated Nursery. Please contact a church usher for more information.
Please come and join us in Luther Hall for refreshments and fellowship following the Sunday worship service. If you would like to help by bringing refreshments, setting up or cleaning up, a sign-up sheet is available in Luther Hall.
*We currently only have a Bible Study that meets after the Sunday worship service. We do not have any children or youth programs at this time. If you are interested in Sunday School, please contact Pastor Holyer.
