The backbone of any congregation is its volunteers, for they are the priesthood of believers of the parish. There are many opportunities for services here at St. Paul for people of all ages. If you are interested in volunteering for any of the opportunities below or would like more information, please contact the person for each group.

The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The LWML focuses on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries, and to support global missions. For more information, read the LWML newsletter.

Our mission field is right here, in our own neighborhoods, where people are struggling and hurting and hungering for the wholeness Jesus brings. This is the call that drives LMS ministries today — ministering to the needs of the body with food, clothing and shelter; ministering to the needs of the soul with the Good News of Jesus. LMS Compassion Place operates a center in Annapolis, where Pastor Holyer conducts a prayer service every Wednesday for community members.

Our older members are very active in the life and ministry of the congregation. Every fall we celebrate their leadership and service in a special worship service entitled “Bless the Years." In this service either an individual or a couple are selected to receive the “New Life in Christ Award.”

The Millersville, Maryland branch is always accepting donations of various items and welcomes volunteers always. Click the link below to find out more and see what is currently being accepted.

This is one of many ways to help individuals and families who could use a break preparing meals when faced with new baby challenges, illness, loss/grief, moving or other life events. Click the link below to find out more or contact the Church office to set up meal assistance.
Several times a year we participate in fundraisers to help OGT, a Christian volunteer network that ships donated food, clothing, medical and other needed items to people in 73 different countries including 40 states in the USA. This annual fundraising event, spearheaded by Wellspring Life Ministry, is held to increase awareness and funding for women facing unexpected pregnancies. It takes place the last Saturday of September.
In 2025, we joined the West Annapolis Business Association, an organization that supports local businesses and fosters a strong community alliance in the neighborhood just across the street from our church. Annual WABA events include a Spring Festival, Oktoberfest and Holliday Market.

Lutheran Hour Ministries is a global mission organization that shares Christ’s love in more than 60 countries, often bringing His message of hope to places where no other Christian organizations are present. When people experience the Gospel message through our programs, we then encourage them to respond by contacting our staff or volunteers. LHM then cultivates relationships with those who respond, ultimately facilitating a connection between them and a Christian community, thereby helping to grow the kingdom of God.
